Renovations
You won't find a more dramatic use for our cementitious toppings
then in renovations. Our extensive variety of products takes worn,
uneven floors and makes them flat and smooth. Poured from a
featheredge to job specific depth they fill cracks and voids left after
walls are removed and provide a new surface for floor installation
perfect for renovations over wood, concrete and old floor coverings.
Multifamily Housing
Sound and fire control are the primary reasons for specifying Maxxon 2000 3.2K and Acousti Mat in the multifamily designs, but general contractors also prefer our underlayments for their quick installation, fast drying and minimum preparation requirements. Dura-Cap is the higher strength, faster drying choice for areas that will receive glue-down floor goods. A six-person crew can pour 30,000 square feet (2,787m2) in a single day. With our fast setting time, painters and other light sub trades can be scheduled within 24 hours.
Self-Levelling Applications
With new floor design trends leaning towards larger tile and hardwood flooring that typically requires a 1/8" in 10'-0", which is difficult to achieve with standard concrete products, our process meets or exceeds the tolerances that these types of finishes require. For sheet good applications such as vinyl, these toppings will provide a smooth surface that minimizes imperfections that is critical to the overall appearance of floor.
Surface Perparation
Shot blasting is the most recommended method of surface
preparation by most coating manufacturers and painting
contractors. For heavier of thicker existing product removal,
diamond grinding is the preferred method allowing the job to be
completed in a timely fashion and leaving a floor surface ideal for
your flooring needs. Both these methods are virtually dustless.
Moisture Emissions
If you ever had an issue with moisture causing flooring failures you will know how frustrating it may be. This can cause costly repairs and down time for the area effected. Floor Solutions has products that can reduce moisture up to 25 lbs per 1000 square feet down to less than 3lbs per 1,000 square feet. These products that are licensed to Floor Solutions carry a 10 Year written warranty that is transferable to new owners if the building is sold.
Anti Fracture Membranes
Floor Solutions recommends the use of anti fracture membranes in
hard surface areas. The cost is relatively low compared to the cost
of the flooring. The inclusion of an anti fracture membrane into the
building assembly can minimize of eliminate unwanted cracks.
Wood Assemblies
All wood including OSB, plywood and framing members are subject
to expansion, contraction, bending and deflection as a result of
changes in moisture content. Anti-fracture membranes assist in
neutralizing the differential movement caused by the
aforementioned deformations.
Radiant Heat
There are inherent challenges in combining rigid surface coverings
with radiant heat systems. Differential movement stresses are
magnified with fluctuations in temperature. The use of an
antifracture membrane reduces the shear stresses between the
heated assembly and the tile covering. Limestone and others
natural stone is more prone to these fluctuations than conventional
tiles.
